Can I have Paintless Dent Removal instead of Body Work?
Paintless Dent Removal is excellent repair technique as long as the metal is not over stretched and paint is not damaged. Here at Custom Auto Repair we always suggest PDR when possible so we can save you time and money. In some cases when those criteria are broken and metal is stretched we still can perform quality PDR. Many times we can improve dents which should be done with body work. In those cases technician will explain you what we can or can not do with Paintless Dent Repair and you will decide which option you like best.
In cases when metal is damaged to the extend when paintless dent repair will not work properly or technician can not access area. We will suggest to you traditional body work.
How much does it cost?
Depending on the depth, location and access, an average ding repair cost is between $79-$125 and next dent on same panel is only $20.
For dent on additional panel is $75(discount with multiple panels).
Dents starts at $100 (golf ball size), bigger dents start at $200 (pam size). For complex dents, long or deep creases and big dents price is usually $250-$425 (hand size plus).
Ultimately the cost of Paintless Dent Repair is usually 50% less than a body shop. For every repair with multiple panels (3 panels or more per car) customer always receive at least 10% discount.
How long does it take?
A single ding (about dime to quarter size) can take 15 minutes to 30 minutes and multiple dings usually under 1 hour.
Repair time on dent depends mostly on depth and location. Generally even big dents are fixed within couple hours. Same is true for creases or complex dents, which looks like one dent but in reality there is few dents within one.
How is PDR Done?
Our PDR process involves using a special light board that casts a reflective pattern across the damaged area.
With highly skilled training and acute hand-eye coordination our experienced technicians use the lines as a point of reference while gaining access behind the damaged panel with special tools (steel rods and wires).
We then gently use these tools to massage the damaged area from behind with out disturbing your factory or custom finish.

Do I have to come to your shop for my Dentless repair?
NO.Most Paintless Dent Removal and Door Ding Repair can be done as mobile service. Our mobile units service St Louis and surrounding cities. For some complex dents we suggest to bring car to our shop for best results. The technician will explain if that is suggested for you. For clients outside of our mobile area. We suggest to submit online estimate. Our technicians will be happy to go to your place for few more cars or panel. It is not unusual for us to travel further when we work on 4-6 cars in same time in area we not normally go to.
